Join us for a day of sewing and make the Ripple Dress!
Whether you are a beginner, or you have the experience but would like to enjoy some social sewing, you will go home with a beautiful dress that you have made yourself. Suitable for adventurous beginners and upwards, you can make our Ripple Dress with help every step of the way.

ABOUT THE RIPPLE DRESS
The Ripple Dress is a loose fitting, peasant-style frock, perfect for skipping through meadows! It has a boxy bodice with a notched neckline, and elbow-length raglan sleeves. The skirt is gathered with spacious cut-out pockets. This everyday dress pulls on over the head with no need for a zip, and there are two lengths (knee length & mid-calf) to choose from.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The workshop runs from 9.30am – 5pm and includes the cost of the pattern and a light lunch. Tara will be your teacher for the day – she has a relaxed, cheerful manner and plenty of experience teaching everyone from beginners to the more capable. She will be able to help you with every element, from taking your own measurements to creating the perfect neckline trim.
You do not need to bring anything except your own fabric and thread. There are sewing machines, scissors and everything you could need on hand at the studio, however, if you prefer to sew on your own machine, that is fine too. You are very welcome to bring your own.
ABOUT THE VENUE
Sew Different is located within the Dean Clough mill complex in a dedicated sewing studio with lots of natural light. We are located on the first floor with lift access. Halifax town centre, bus station and train station are a ten minute walk from the studio. There is free parking on site at the weekend.

Private workshops for solo sewists or small groups can be arranged. They can be run to a similar format as our listed retreat but you would have the studio to yourselves.
