Join us for a two day workshop to make the Kahlo Tabard
Whether this pattern is out of your usual comfort zone, or whether you have the experience but would like to enjoy some social sewing, you will go home with a beautiful dress that you have made yourself. Suitable for those with a little experience and upwards, you can make our Kahlo Tabard with help every step of the way.

ABOUT THE KAHLO TABARD
The Kahlo Tabard slips on effortlessly, its simple shape evoking wartime practicality. The under-layer wraps to the back, secured with a button, while the outer layer wraps to the front and ties with a chunky grosgrain ribbon. The bodice is lined, and it features oversized pockets to hold your tools and equipment.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The workshop runs from 9.30am – 4.30pm and includes the cost of the pattern and a light lunch. Tara will be your teacher for the day – she has a relaxed, cheerful manner and a wealth of teaching experience. She will be able to help you with every element, from taking your own measurements to the perfect finish.
Included in our workshop, first thing on Tuesday morning, will be a trip to the Fabbadashery where you will be able to purchase fabric, cotton, buttons and grosgrain ribbon for your pattern. Sew Different’s own fabric collection will also be available on the day. You are very welcome to bring along some fabric from your stash if you prefer and we offer a free consultation service if you have any queries about the fabric you are planning to bring. RECOMMENDED FABRICS: cotton, linen, viscose
You do not need to bring any equipment. There are sewing machines, scissors and everything you could need on hand at the studio, however, if you prefer to sew on your own machine, that is fine too. You are very welcome to bring your own.
ABOUT THE VENUE
Sew Different is located within the Dean Clough mill complex in a dedicated sewing studio with lots of natural light. We are located on the first floor with lift access. Halifax town centre, bus station and train station are a ten minute walk from the studio. There is a Travel Lodge and plenty of metered parking on site.

Private workshops for solo sewists or small groups can be arranged. They can be run to a similar format as our listed retreat but you would have the studio to yourselves.
